Bayelsa’s Tamunosoye Karibi-George Crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026

Tamunosoye Karibi-George has emerged as Miss World Nigeria 2026 after defeating 19 other contestants at the grand finale of the pageant held in Lagos.

The 26-year-old beauty queen, who represented Bayelsa State and is an indigene of Rivers State, was crowned at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, during an event that celebrated beauty, leadership, and social impact.

With the victory, Karibi-George will represent Nigeria at the 73rd Miss World Festival scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from August 9 to September 5, 2026.

Announcing the winner, Silverbird Group founder Ben Murray-Bruce praised her commitment to humanitarian causes and described her as a worthy ambassador for the country.

According to him, her advocacy initiative, Beyond Labels, which focuses on supporting children with special needs, distinguished her throughout the competition.

The pageant was held under the theme “Pride, Power, and Purpose,” reflecting the organisers’ emphasis on beauty with a purpose and community development projects.

Karibi-George succeeds Joy Mojisola Raimi, who represented Nigeria at the previous Miss World competition and reached the Top 20 globally.

Speaking after her victory, the new queen expressed gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to use her platform to promote inclusion, education, and support for vulnerable children.

Organisers, stakeholders, and supporters have called on Nigerians to rally behind her as she prepares to represent the country on the international stage.

The Miss World Nigeria competition remains one of the country’s most prestigious pageants and serves as a platform for young women to champion social causes while showcasing Nigeria’s talent and cultural diversity to a global audience.
