Adeleke Commissions New Flyover, Showcases Osun’S Infrastructure Drive

Residents of Osogbo witnessed a major boost to urban infrastructure as Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, inaugurated the Lameco Flyover Bridge, describing the project as evidence of his administration’s commitment to development through local expertise and transparent governance.

The governor said the bridge is one of several major projects completed under his administration and marks the beginning of a series of project inaugurations across the state.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Adeleke stated that his government’s local content policy has not only delivered quality infrastructure but has also created opportunities for indigenous contractors, engineers and suppliers to contribute meaningfully to the state’s development.

According to him, the flyover represents more than a transportation project, as it reflects a broader agenda aimed at improving roads, healthcare facilities, educational infrastructure and water supply across Osun State.

“This project is not isolated. It is part of our promise to rebuild Osun through infrastructure that directly impacts the lives of our people,” the governor said.

Adeleke emphasized that all projects undertaken by his administration have been executed through due process and prudent management of public resources without placing unnecessary financial burdens on future generations.

He praised local engineers involved in the construction, noting that the quality of the bridge demonstrates that Nigerian professionals possess the capacity to deliver world-class infrastructure when given the opportunity.

The governor disclosed that his administration has completed over 27 kilometres of roads within Osogbo and more than 300 kilometres of roads across various parts of the state. He added that over ten major projects have been completed and are ready for public use.

He further explained that the government has adopted an equitable approach to infrastructure distribution to ensure that communities across the state benefit from development projects.

While calling on residents to take ownership of the newly commissioned bridge, Adeleke warned against vandalism, street trading and activities capable of damaging public facilities.

He also directed the Ministry of Works and relevant agencies to ensure regular maintenance of the structure.

The commissioning comes amid growing efforts by state governments across Nigeria to improve critical infrastructure as a means of stimulating economic growth, easing transportation challenges and improving living standards.

For many residents, the bridge represents another step toward modernizing Osun’s capital city and improving connectivity within the state.
