Rescued Oriire School Principal Thanks Tinubu, Security Agencies

The principal of the school affected by the Oriire abduction incident in Oyo State, Mrs. Folawe Rachael Alamu, has expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and security agencies following the rescue of pupils and teachers who spent weeks in captivity.

Mrs. Alamu, who was abducted alongside pupils and other members of staff during the May 15 attack on communities in Oriire Local Government Area, conveyed her gratitude in a video message released after the successful rescue operation.

Addressing President Tinubu, the principal thanked him for his commitment to the safety and eventual release of the victims.

“President sir, our father, we are grateful. We understand your commitment to our safety and we appreciate all you did for us,” she said.

She also commended the efforts of security personnel involved in the operation, acknowledging the sacrifices they made to secure the victims’ freedom.

“And every security operative, they tried so much and that is why we are still alive by now. God bless you,” she added.

The video was shared by the Presidency following the announcement that all abducted pupils and teachers had regained their freedom after more than 50 days in captivity.

The rescue operation, carried out by security agencies, reportedly led to the arrest of several suspected kidnappers, while others were neutralised during the mission.

The successful rescue has been widely welcomed by Nigerians and has brought relief to families, residents and stakeholders who had anxiously awaited the safe return of the victims.

The abduction had sparked nationwide concern and renewed calls for stronger measures to secure schools and communities against attacks by criminal groups.
