Kiekie Explains Why She Avoids Collaborating With Some Skit Makers

Nigerian content creator and media personality Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as Kiekie, has revealed that brand values play a major role in determining the people she collaborates with in the entertainment industry.

Speaking during a recent interview, the actress and skit maker said she deliberately avoids partnerships with creators whose content she considers overly vulgar or inconsistent with the image she has built over the years.

According to Kiekie, maintaining her brand identity remains a top priority, even though she acknowledges and respects the efforts of colleagues who choose a different creative direction.

She explained that while she has no personal issue with creators who produce provocative content, collaborations must reflect the standards and values associated with her public image.

“I would never collaborate with any skit maker that is too vulgar,” she said, adding that her decision is based on compatibility rather than criticism of other entertainers.

Kiekie noted that she has come across several creators whose content focuses heavily on explicit themes, but stressed that her reluctance to work with them should not be interpreted as a lack of respect for their craft.

The entertainer pointed out that brand alignment is crucial in the content creation industry, especially as partnerships and endorsements often depend on the image projected by a creator.

According to her, working with content creators whose styles differ significantly from hers could influence the way brands and advertisers perceive her work.

She emphasized that choosing not to collaborate with certain individuals does not diminish their talent or the effort they invest in building their platforms.

“I recognize your hard work, but we just don’t align,” Kiekie said, explaining that preserving the identity of her brand ultimately guides many of her professional decisions.

Over the years, Kiekie has established herself as one of Nigeria’s most recognizable online personalities, earning praise for her comedic skits, presenting skills and family-friendly content.

Her comments highlight the growing importance of branding within Nigeria’s entertainment industry, where content creators increasingly weigh creative partnerships against the expectations of audiences and commercial partners.

For Kiekie, staying true to the image she has cultivated appears to outweigh the potential benefits of collaborations that do not fit her personal and professional values.
