The Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC) has handed over a newly renovated office complex and two operational vehicles to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) Zone 25, covering the Bariga and Oworonshoki axis.
The intervention forms part of the corporation’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at supporting public institutions and enhancing service delivery across the state.
The office facility, which was destroyed during the 2020 #EndSARS protests, had remained abandoned for several years. Recognising the need for a conducive working environment for traffic management officers, LSDPC undertook the reconstruction and renovation of the facility while also donating two operational vehicles to improve traffic response operations.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of LSDPC, Hon. Ayodeji Joseph, represented by the Executive Director, Business Development and Joint Venture, Mr Derin Phillips, said the project reflects the corporation’s commitment to impactful CSR initiatives.
He noted that collaboration among government agencies remains essential to improving public service delivery and ensuring institutions are adequately equipped to serve residents effectively.
According to him, the intervention is designed to strengthen operational efficiency and promote better working conditions for officers tasked with managing traffic in the state.
Receiving the facility and vehicles, the General Manager of LASTMA expressed appreciation to LSDPC for the gesture, describing it as a significant boost to the agency’s operations.
He stated that the renovated office would provide a more conducive environment for personnel, while the additional vehicles would improve the agency’s capacity to respond swiftly to traffic incidents within the Bariga and Oworonshoki corridor.
The corporation reiterated its commitment to supporting public institutions through strategic interventions that contribute to safer communities, stronger inter-agency collaboration and improved service delivery across Lagos State.
