A 50-year-old Nigerian woman, Mrs Olushola Olonade, has shared her testimony after giving birth to quadruplets—two boys and two girls—following years of waiting to get married and start a family.
Olonade recounted her experience during a thanksgiving service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Solid Rock Parish, Ojodu, Lagos, on Sunday.
According to her, she got married on December 12, 2023, at the age of 48 after what she described as a prolonged wait for a husband. Determined not to experience another delay in becoming a mother, she prayed for quick conception after her wedding.
She said medical examinations during her pregnancy initially indicated she was carrying twins, before subsequent scans revealed triplets and later quadruplets.
“My name is Olushola Olonade. I used to be Olushola Adeniji for 48 years. I got married on December 12, 2023, after a long wait,” she said.
She explained that she had always hoped motherhood would come quickly after marriage and was surprised by the progression of scan results.
“When we went for the first scan, the doctor said he was seeing twins. We later went for another scan and another doctor said he was seeing three babies. During another visit, the doctor told me he could see four,” she recalled.
Olonade eventually delivered the quadruplets on March 6, 2026, just weeks before celebrating her 50th birthday on March 31.
She noted that multiple births are common in her family and expressed gratitude for a successful pregnancy and delivery.
“The beauty of the testimony is that I had them three weeks before my 50th birthday. We have many twins in our family, but this came as a surprise to everyone,” she said.
Olonade thanked God for preserving her life and that of the babies, describing the birth as a remarkable blessing after years of waiting.
