DHQ Intensifies Operations as Troops Disrupt Terrorists’ Networks Nationwide

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced that troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria have disrupted several terrorist networks across the country as military operations continue in multiple theatres.

Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Imo, disclosed this on Monday during a media briefing in Abuja.

He said the military had intensified offensive operations in the North-East, North-West and South-East, leading to the neutralisation of several terrorists as well as the recovery of arms, ammunition and other operational equipment.

According to Imo, the ongoing operations form part of sustained efforts to dismantle criminal and terrorist structures threatening peace and security in various parts of the country.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Armed Forces to restoring normalcy and protecting communities affected by insurgency, banditry and other forms of violent crime.

The Defence Headquarters also called on citizens to continue supporting security agencies with credible and timely intelligence, noting that public cooperation remains critical to the success of ongoing operations.

Imo warned criminal elements that security forces would continue to maintain pressure on their activities and ensure they are brought to justice.

The latest operational update underscores the military’s determination to sustain momentum in the fight against terrorism and other security threats nationwide.
