President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, is set to receive the Expo Africa Brazil Leadership Award 2026 in recognition of his contributions to industrial development, job creation and Africa’s growing influence in global trade.
The award, regarded as the highest international recognition presented by Expo Africa Brazil, was unanimously approved by the event’s International Honors Committee ahead of the summit scheduled for December.
According to the President of Expo Africa Brazil, João Canda, the recognition reflects Dangote’s long-standing commitment to transforming Africa’s industrial landscape and strengthening economic partnerships beyond the continent.
Canda described the decision as one of the most significant resolutions adopted since the establishment of the platform, noting that Dangote’s achievements extend beyond business success to include efforts aimed at promoting industrialisation and economic growth.
“This recognition celebrates not only extraordinary business achievement, but a lifetime commitment to industrialising Africa, creating jobs, and positioning the continent as a central player in global trade,” he said.
The award will be formally presented during Expo Africa Brazil 2026, scheduled to hold between December 3 and 5 in Brazil.
The summit is expected to attract government officials, investors, development finance institutions and business leaders from Africa and Latin America.
Organisers said delegations from more than 25 African countries would participate in discussions focused on investment, infrastructure, energy, agribusiness, technology and trade financing.
Over 1,000 delegates, including ministers, chief executives and development finance experts, are expected to attend the event.
The gathering is also expected to explore ways of reducing trade barriers and improving logistics links between Africa and South America, with the aim of boosting commercial relations between both regions.
