The House of Representatives ad hoc committee probing the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) has declared that the purported appointment letter naming Mr Adeniyi Adeyemi as Director-General was forged.
In a preliminary report released on Wednesday, the committee said investigations confirmed that the Presidency neither approved nor issued the appointment. The document, which purportedly carried the signature and authority of Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, was found to contain multiple irregularities.
According to the committee, the letterhead was not authentic State House stationery, the reference number did not align with official records, and the format and language differed significantly from standard presidential correspondence.
“The purported appointment letter was fabricated and falsely attributed to the Presidency,” the report stated, warning that such actions undermine the integrity of the Office of the President.
The committee also dismissed other documents linked to the organisation, including an alleged approval for a Presidential Economic Advisory Council and a purported Executive Order No. 5 of February 24, 2026, describing them as unauthorised and lacking any official government backing.
The lawmakers called for a thorough investigation and possible prosecution of those responsible for the alleged forgery.
