Liverpool are set for a major commercial change after announcing Turkish Airlines as their new main shirt sponsor from June 2027, ending Standard Chartered’s long-running association with the club.
The five-year agreement will see Turkish Airlines’ logo appear on the front of Liverpool’s men’s, women’s and Academy shirts from the 2027-28 season. Financial details were not officially disclosed, although media reports have valued the deal at more than £300 million.
The agreement will bring an end to Standard Chartered’s 17-year run as Liverpool’s principal shirt sponsor. The banking giant became the club’s main shirt partner in 2010 but will remain connected to Liverpool in a global partnership capacity after the 2026-27 season.
Liverpool chief commercial officer Ben Latty described the new agreement as a significant milestone, stressing the importance of the shirt’s front sponsorship position.
“The front of the Liverpool shirt holds a special place in the history of our club,” Latty said, adding that Turkish Airlines’ international reach would provide a strong platform for the partnership.
The new relationship also carries a strong connection to Liverpool’s history in European football. The club’s famous 2005 Champions League triumph took place in Istanbul, where they recovered from a 3-0 deficit against AC Milan before winning the final on penalties.
Turkish Airlines already has a major presence in football. The airline is an official partner of the UEFA Champions League and also serves as the principal sponsor of the Turkey national team.
If the reported valuation is accurate, the agreement would rank among the most lucrative shirt sponsorship deals in Premier League history. Liverpool, however, have yet to confirm the reported figure.
The partnership will cover all three of Liverpool’s football operations, giving Turkish Airlines prominent visibility across the club’s men’s, women’s and youth teams.
For Standard Chartered, the conclusion of the shirt sponsorship does not mean a complete departure from Anfield. Instead, the company will transition into a wider global partnership role once its front-of-shirt agreement expires.
The switch represents a new commercial chapter for Liverpool, with Turkish Airlines officially assuming the prominent position from June 2027 after nearly two decades of Standard Chartered branding on the club’s famous red shirt.
