Tinubu Celebrates Wife Oluremi at 66

President Bola Tinubu has marked his wife Oluremi’s 66th birthday with a heartfelt tribute, describing her as his “truest friend and confidante” and crediting her with providing strength and guidance throughout their life together.

In a message celebrating the occasion, Tinubu reflected on the years they have shared, recalling periods of uncertainty, difficult decisions and personal sacrifices. He said Oluremi’s patience, courage, faith and compassion had remained a constant source of support.

The President referenced the Yoruba saying, “Ìyàwó rere ni adé ọkọ rẹ̀”, meaning “A good wife is her husband’s crown”, saying Oluremi had given the expression personal meaning through her role in his life.

“You have stood by my side through every season,” Tinubu said, adding that his wife had often understood burdens and thoughts that he struggled to express.

He particularly praised her willingness to offer honest advice, even when it was difficult to hear. According to the President, Oluremi would often wait until they were alone after a demanding day before telling him what she believed he needed to know.

“I call you my truest friend and confidante because you speak the truth plainly, even on the days I would rather not hear it,” he said.

Tinubu also highlighted Oluremi’s influence within their family, saying their children and grandchildren had grown up surrounded by her prayers and values.

Beyond the family, he acknowledged her humanitarian work, pointing to her involvement with the New Era Foundation in Lagos and her current activities through the Renewed Hope Initiative.

According to the President, her efforts have touched the lives of young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers across Nigeria. He also praised her advocacy for people affected by tuberculosis and other diseases.

Tinubu described his wife’s compassion as extending beyond ethnic, regional and religious boundaries, portraying her public service as another reflection of the values she brings to their family life.

Reflecting on their marriage, the President said their long journey together had reinforced his appreciation for having a supportive partner by his side.

He said that if given the opportunity to begin his life again, he would still choose the same path that brought them together.

“If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you,” he said.

Tinubu ended the tribute by thanking Oluremi for the life they had built together and wishing her continued health, happiness and many more years.

“Happy 66th birthday, my darling Oluremi,” he said.
