Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, are among the dignitaries expected at the installation of Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi as the Baba Adinni of Yoruba Land.
The ceremony, organised by the Council of Islamic Preachers, is scheduled to hold on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Onikan Stadium in Lagos.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary of the Planning Committee, Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, who described the event as a historic occasion for the Yoruba Muslim community.
According to Bamigbade, the ceremony will bring together prominent Nigerians, government officials and traditional rulers to celebrate Islamic leadership, cultural heritage and unity across Yoruba-speaking states.
Prince Olusi, who is also an Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), is expected to be honoured for what the organisers described as his longstanding contributions to community development, political stability and religious harmony.
The organisers said the installation would provide an opportunity to recognise Olusi’s years of service while bringing together influential figures from across the political, traditional and religious spheres.
Sanwo-Olu will serve as the chief host at the ceremony, while Hamzat is expected to attend as the special guest of honour.
Other notable Lagosians listed among those expected at the event include Senator Wasiu Sanni Eshinlokun, Alhaji Mutiu Are and Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, who chairs Conference 57.
The planning committee said the presence of prominent leaders and traditional authorities would further underscore the significance of the occasion.
The installation is expected to attract members of the Islamic community and other stakeholders from across Lagos and the Yoruba-speaking states, with the organisers positioning the event as a celebration of religious leadership and cultural unity.
Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi is a prominent Lagosian whose public life has included involvement in community affairs, politics and activities aimed at promoting social cohesion.
The October 3 ceremony will formally mark his installation as Baba Adinni of Yoruba Land, bringing together religious leaders, political figures, traditional rulers and other guests for the occasion.
