Arsenal have committed Mikel Arteta’s long-term future to the club, extending the manager’s contract until June 2030 after a landmark 2025-26 season.
The new deal was announced by the Premier League club, which said the extension reflected a shared desire to build on the progress achieved under Arteta and usher Arsenal into what it described as a special period in its history.
Arteta, who took charge in December 2019, has managed 361 matches across all competitions. Arsenal said his 62.05 per cent win rate is the highest recorded by any full-time manager in the club’s history.
The Spaniard also secured his place among Arsenal’s title-winning managers last season after guiding the club to its 14th league championship, fourth Premier League title and first league crown in 22 years.
Arsenal co-chairs Stan and Josh Kroenke welcomed the extension, saying they were proud of what had been achieved since Arteta returned to the club.
“We share a special bond with Mikel. We are so proud of everything we have achieved since he returned to the club in 2019,” the Kroenkes said.
They added that Arteta understood the club’s values and remained committed to building on its recent achievements.
Chief executive Richard Garlick said retaining the manager was an important part of Arsenal’s ambition to establish sustained success.
“Mikel has the belief, determination and the understanding of what it takes to build something remarkable and enduring here, and we are excited to continue that journey together,” Garlick said.
Arteta said he was delighted to continue his relationship with the club and praised the leadership, staff and supporters who have been part of Arsenal’s progress.
“It’s a privilege to commit my future to the club and to continue to work with exceptional people who want the best for Arsenal,” he said.
The 44-year-old added that Arsenal had developed a special relationship with its supporters and expressed confidence in what the club could achieve over the coming years.
“This is such a proud moment for me and my family. I feel the love and respect from our fantastic supporters, and they have mine – and ours – in return,” Arteta said.
Arsenal also confirmed that members of Arteta’s coaching staff had renewed their contracts, with their agreements running for the same duration as the manager’s new deal.
The club said the extension remains subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
