NDLEA Warns Interior Ministry Recruitment Applicants Against Drug Test Fees

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has warned applicants seeking recruitment into four agencies under the Ministry of Interior not to pay for the mandatory Drug Integrity Test, saying the exercise has already been funded by the ministry.

The screening covers applicants seeking employment into the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

In a statement issued on Friday, the NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, said the Ministry of Interior had made bulk payments to cover the drug tests for all new recruits.

He stressed that applicants were not required to pay any fee to participate in the exercise.

The agency advised candidates and other personnel involved in the recruitment process against making payments to NDLEA officials, designated testing centres or through any other payment channel.

According to the statement, applicants will be required to access the NDLEA Drug Integrity Test portal through a designated link or access point to be provided on the recruitment portals of the respective agencies.

The agency said the arrangement was intended to ensure that the screening process was conducted smoothly and transparently.

The NDLEA also commended the Ministry of Interior for its cooperation and reaffirmed its commitment to an efficient testing process.

The warning comes as recruitment applicants prepare to undergo the mandatory drug screening as part of the selection process for the four paramilitary agencies.
