The Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) says it has disbursed more than N1 trillion to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through participating financial institutions since commencing operations in 2017.
The bank disclosed this while reviewing its performance up to December 2025, highlighting achievements in lending, capacity building, credit guarantees and job creation.
Speaking in Lagos, Managing Director of DBN, Dr Tony Okpanachi, said the institution currently works with 84 participating financial institutions, including deposit money banks, merchant banks and microfinance banks.
He revealed that the bank has facilitated more than one million loans to end beneficiaries, with women accounting for 77 per cent of recipients and youths representing 28 per cent.
Okpanachi also noted that over N108 billion had been channelled to more than 132,000 MSMEs operating in economically disadvantaged states such as Borno, Adamawa, Katsina, Yobe and Zamfara.
According to him, DBN’s interventions have contributed to the creation of more than 1.6 million jobs nationwide.
The bank further disclosed that over N512 billion in credit guarantees have been issued to more than 100,000 MSMEs since 2019.
