Nigerian reality TV star and influencer Natasha Akide, better known as Tacha, has opened up about the personal motivation behind her rise in the entertainment and beauty industry, naming her late mother as the most significant influence on her journey.
Speaking during an interview with The Sun, Tacha described her mother as hardworking and prayerful, and said the desire to honour her memory remains a constant push in everything she does.
“Even though she’s late, I always feel the need and urge to make her proud. If she had the same opportunity I have right now, she would do everything I have done and even more. That is why I keep being me,” she said.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate also traced her interest in beauty back to childhood, revealing she began exploring makeup artistry at age 14. That early passion has since grown into a full commercial venture. Tacha announced plans to launch her own cosmetic line, Tacha Beauty, in September, describing it as a natural continuation of a lifelong craft.
“I’ve been into makeup since I was 14 years old. I didn’t want to keep explaining how good I am. I just wanted to show my skills,” she said.
The brand launch follows her double entry into the Guinness Book of Records, an achievement she said shaped the visual identity she presented publicly as a beauty founder.
Tacha also used the platform to send a message to young women, encouraging them to pursue their goals without waiting for external validation.
“They should not stop. They should not ask for permission. They should keep soaring. Be confident in yourselves and live your best lives,” she said.
