The Lagos State Police Command says it has arrested 150 suspects and recovered firearms, motorcycles and other items during a coordinated raid on criminal hideouts in parts of the state.
The operation was carried out under the ongoing Operation KO S’AYE in the Igando and Idimu areas following intelligence reports on suspected criminal activities.
According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, operatives raided identified black spots and criminal hideouts within the affected communities.
Items recovered during the operation include 100 unregistered motorcycles, mobile phones, firearms, military camouflage uniforms, generators suspected to be stolen and substances believed to be illicit drugs.
The police said all suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue to determine their level of involvement in criminal activities.
The statement added that those found culpable would be charged in court.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, commended the officers involved in the operation and reiterated the Command’s commitment to tackling crime across the state.
He urged residents to continue supporting law enforcement agencies by providing timely and credible information that could assist ongoing security operations.
The police said similar operations would continue in different parts of the state as part of efforts to improve public safety and deny criminal elements safe haven.
