The Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has received candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State and offered prayers for their success ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The royal father spoke at his palace in Ilorin during a visit by APC leaders and candidates led by the state party chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi.
Among those present were the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and APC governorship candidate, Hon. Yakubu Danladi, as well as candidates contesting for senatorial, House of Representatives and State Assembly seats.
Addressing the delegation, the Emir commended Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his contributions to the development of the state and prayed for continued peace and progress in Kwara.
He also offered prayers for the candidates and urged them to remain committed to serving the people.
Speaking after the visit, Danladi said the party remained focused on unity and reconciliation among its members ahead of the elections.
According to him, efforts are ongoing to address concerns raised by stakeholders and strengthen cohesion within the party.
APC Chairman Prince Sunday Fagbemi said the visit was aimed at presenting the party’s candidates to the Emir and seeking his blessings.
The visit forms part of the party’s consultations and engagements with key stakeholders ahead of preparations for the 2027 elections in Kwara State.
