Portable explained his reasoning for singling out Terry G, saying a fight between them would put the veteran musician back in the public eye in a way that could reignite interest in his career. He was clear about his preference for who he takes on inside the ring, stating that he would rather face fellow entertainers than get drawn into bouts with social media figures, specifically ruling out any interest in fighting VeryDarkMan or Carter Efe.
The singer leaned into his reputation as something of a trailblazer in this space, describing himself as the pioneer of celebrity boxing in Nigeria. He credited previous fights with earning him millions of naira, framing his boxing ventures as both a passion project and a lucrative one.
Portable’s attention isn’t solely on Terry G for now, though. He confirmed that his more immediate focus is a scheduled rematch against actor Charles Okocha, set for July 31 in Lagos, and said he expects the contest to draw a sizable crowd.
Looking further ahead, Portable outlined an ambitious vision tied to a hypothetical win over Terry G. Should that fight happen and go his way, he said he plans to travel to London before embarking on a broader tour that would take him through the United States, Russia, Malaysia, Dubai and South Africa, framing the potential bout as a launching pad for expanding his celebrity boxing brand internationally.
