Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwo has explained why she is often cast in witch and villainous roles, saying such characters help her expose the consequences of evil and injustice.
The actress made the remarks during a livestream interview with Nigerian content creator Carter Efe after being asked about her frequent portrayal of antagonistic characters in movies.
Ozokwo said she sees the roles as an opportunity to promote moral values and discourage wrongdoing.
According to her, she strongly opposes injustice, conflict and negative behaviour, and uses her performances to highlight the dangers associated with such actions.
She noted that portraying villainous characters allows audiences to understand the consequences of bad decisions while encouraging them to embrace positive values.
The actress added that her goal is not to glorify evil but to demonstrate the outcomes of harmful actions and the rewards of living responsibly.
Widely known as Mama G, Ozokwo remains one of Nollywood’s most celebrated actresses, renowned for her memorable performances across several decades.
