NSCDC Arrests 16 Suspects for Vandalism, Cattle Rustling and Other Offences in Gombe

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gombe State Command, has arrested 16 suspects over alleged offences ranging from vandalism and cattle rustling to theft, forgery and impersonation.

The command’s spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Buhari Saad, disclosed this while parading the suspects before journalists in Gombe.

According to him, the arrests followed investigations into a number of criminal activities reported in different parts of the state.

Saad said several suspects were arrested in connection with cases involving theft, vandalism and criminal conspiracy, while others were linked to forgery and impersonation offences.

Three suspects were also arrested for allegedly possessing NSCDC volunteer identity cards and uniforms without authorisation.

The command further disclosed the arrest of two suspects accused of rustling 13 cows from neighbouring Taraba State before they were intercepted in Gombe.

Saad said investigations into the various cases were ongoing and assured that all suspects found culpable would be prosecuted accordingly.

He urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with useful information that could help prevent crime and facilitate arrests.
