All the schoolchildren and teachers abducted during the May 15 attack on Ahoro-Esiele community in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State have regained their freedom.
The victims were kidnapped when armed gunmen invaded the community and abducted 46 pupils, teachers and the principal of a secondary school, an incident that sparked widespread concern across the country.
The abduction later turned tragic following the killing of one of the kidnapped teachers, Michael Oyedokun, who was reportedly beheaded by the abductors days after the incident.
THISDAY has confirmed the release of the remaining victims, bringing an end to weeks of uncertainty for their families and the affected community.
However, details of the rescue operation, including whether any arrests were made or if a ransom was paid, were not immediately available as of the time of filing this report.
Further details are expected as authorities provide official updates on the development.
