Insecurity, Economic Hardship Worsening National Crisis — PFN

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Lagos Mainland Province, has expressed concern over the country’s growing insecurity, economic hardship and recurring abductions, warning that Nigeria’s challenges require both spiritual and moral solutions.

The fellowship stated that while prayers remain important, genuine repentance and positive societal change are necessary to reverse the nation’s fortunes.

Speaking during a crusade themed “Help From Above” held at Bariga Primary School, Ilaje, Lagos, Chairman of PFN Lagos Mainland Province, Pastor Chinedu Momah, urged Nigerians to place their trust in God rather than solely depending on political leaders and human solutions.

Represented by the province’s General Secretary, Pastor Moses Mboso, Momah noted that successive attempts to address the country’s problems through human wisdom and leadership had yielded limited results. According to him, true transformation can only come through divine intervention, coupled with righteous living and collective responsibility.

He encouraged citizens not to lose hope despite prevailing challenges, stressing that every Nigerian has a role to play in promoting national development and moral values.

Also speaking at the event, Lead Pastor of International Miracle Service (IMS), Pastor Andrew Umoru, described the current state of the nation as troubling, citing widespread insecurity and the continued abduction of citizens, including schoolchildren.

Vanguard reports that Umoru said Nigeria’s problems should not be viewed solely as the responsibility of political leaders, arguing that corruption and injustice also thrive within communities and among ordinary citizens. He maintained that national healing would remain difficult without sincere repentance, integrity and a willingness among Nigerians to change their ways.

Meanwhile, the Women’s Coordinator of PFN Lagos Mainland Province, Reverend Susan Ezeudemba, called on women to take more active roles in nation-building and community development.

She highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the fellowship’s women wing, including empowerment programmes, leadership conferences and community outreach projects aimed at supporting women and young girls. The crusade was organised by PFN Lagos Mainland Province in collaboration with International Miracle Service.
