Nigerians and others have confirmed that a youngster who was an Arsenal fan, Chibuzor Nzediegwu, died over the loss of EUFA Champions League by Arsenal to PSG of France.
It was a heart-breaking incident at Uga community in Aguata local government area of Anambra state, as the deceased family and kinsmen gathered to lay him to rest. The report sent cold shivers to his friends and others in the community.
According to reports, Chibuzor, a passionate Arsenal FC supporter, tragically collapsed during the second half of the UEFA Champions League final between Arsenal and PSG. Witnesses say the incident occurred after PSG equalized and continued to mount pressure on Arsenal.
As he was being buried on Monday, tears and grief filled the compound as his Umunna dug his grave and prepared him for his final journey.
Ii is still shocking that a teenager anywhere in the world could be so passionate with football or any sport at all that he would be ready to commit his life to it.
Although no post mortem was carried out but it is doubtful if the deceased suffered any terminal ailment like hypertension.
