Tinubu Says Economic Reforms Delivering Results as Deloitte Africa Commends Progress

President Bola Tinubu has said Nigeria’s economy is recording steady growth as ongoing fiscal and financial reforms continue to stabilise key sectors and strengthen the country’s economic foundation.

Tinubu stated this on Wednesday while receiving a delegation of Deloitte Africa led by its Chief Executive Officer, Ruwayda Redfearn, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The President said the reforms undertaken by his administration had repositioned the economy, strengthened revenue generation and improved the competitiveness of the country.

According to him, although reforms are often difficult, their impact is becoming increasingly evident through improved economic indicators.

Tinubu noted that reforms in revenue administration would continue to stimulate economic growth and create a stronger foundation for future development.

The President also urged Deloitte Africa to contribute more actively to youth development through training and recruitment initiatives aimed at equipping young Nigerians with relevant skills.

Speaking at the meeting, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, highlighted the impact of ongoing fiscal reforms and encouraged Deloitte to support efforts targeted at building human capital.

In her remarks, Deloitte Africa CEO Ruwayda Redfearn commended the reforms being implemented by the Federal Government and expressed the organisation’s readiness to support Nigeria’s development agenda.

She disclosed that Deloitte employs more than 500,000 people globally, including over 6,000 across Africa, and generated $74 billion in revenue in 2025.

Redfearn said the firm was prepared to work with the Nigerian government in areas of digital transformation, business development and capacity building.

Also speaking, Deloitte West Africa Chief Executive Officer, Yomi Olugbenro, said the firm believes the foundation for economic growth has been laid and pledged support towards ensuring that the benefits of reforms reach ordinary Nigerians.

He noted that Deloitte would leverage its global experience and expertise to support Nigeria’s economic transformation efforts.
