President Bola Tinubu has vowed that those responsible for the recent deadly attack in Kaduna State will face justice, directing security agencies to intensify operations aimed at tracking down the perpetrators and restoring peace to the affected communities.
The President’s directive followed the killing of about 30 residents, including women and children, during an attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area in the early hours of Monday. Several houses were also reportedly razed during the assault, while a number of residents were abducted by the attackers.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the President’s Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a barbaric and cowardly act of terror against innocent and defenceless citizens.
Expressing grief over the loss of lives, the President extended condolences to the bereaved families, the Kaduna State Government and the people of the state, assuring them of the Federal Government’s support during the difficult period.
Tinubu directed the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and intelligence agencies to intensify security operations in the area, apprehend those responsible for the killings and secure the release of persons abducted during the attack.
“I have directed the Armed Forces, police, and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations across the affected areas to track down the perpetrators swiftly, secure the release of abducted individuals, and restore normalcy to the region,” the President stated.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to combating insecurity across the country, noting that efforts were ongoing to strengthen security infrastructure, improve operational capacity and dismantle criminal networks threatening national peace and stability.
According to Tinubu, the Federal Government remains determined to equip security personnel adequately and ensure that criminal elements do not undermine the gains recorded in several parts of the country.
The President also appealed to residents and community leaders to support security agencies by providing credible and timely intelligence capable of preventing attacks and enabling rapid response to emerging threats.
“I urge our local communities to cooperate with security forces by providing actionable intelligence that would help early response efforts,” he added.
The attack has renewed concerns over security challenges in parts of Kaduna State despite recent reports of improved stability across several communities. Authorities say investigations are ongoing while security deployments have been reinforced in the affected area to prevent further attacks and reassure residents.
