Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal has added another milestone to his rapidly growing list of achievements, becoming the highest-scoring teenager in UEFA Champions League history.
The 19-year-old surpassed Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe’s previous record after finding the net during Barcelona’s 3-0 victory over Aston Villa at Spotify Camp Nou on Tuesday.
Yamal opened the scoring in the seventh minute, capitalising on a defensive mistake before curling a composed finish beyond Villa goalkeeper Zion Suzuki.
The goal took his Champions League tally to 14, moving him ahead of Mbappe, who scored 13 times in the competition before turning 20.
The Barcelona winger achieved the feat in 37 appearances, further strengthening his reputation as one of European football’s most promising young talents.
Although Mbappe has since established himself among the competition’s leading goalscorers with 72 career goals, his teenage scoring record had remained intact until Yamal’s latest strike.
The Spanish international’s achievement also places him ahead of several established stars who made their mark in European football at an early age.
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland occupies third position on the teenage scoring list with 10 goals, followed by former Barcelona forward Patrick Kluivert with seven.
Real Madrid legends Raul Gonzalez and Karim Benzema share the next position with Jude Bellingham, having each registered six Champions League goals as teenagers.
Yamal’s latest accomplishment continues a remarkable rise that began when he broke into Barcelona’s senior team at an exceptionally young age.
He previously became the youngest player to start a Champions League match proper, achieving the milestone at 16 years and 83 days during Barcelona’s encounter with FC Porto.
Since then, the winger has developed into an influential figure for both club and country, combining goalscoring ability with creativity and attacking versatility.
His performances have also earned recognition in football’s major individual awards.
At the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony, Yamal finished third behind Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, who claimed the award, and Real Madrid’s Mbappe.
The Barcelona youngster has maintained his impressive form in the current campaign, contributing 13 goals and 11 assists in just 15 appearances across all competitions.
Those figures underline his importance to Barcelona’s attacking play as the club pursues success in domestic and European competitions.
With his teenage Champions League record now secured, Yamal has further established himself among the competition’s standout young performers.
His latest achievement also adds another chapter to the growing comparisons between the Barcelona winger and Mbappe, whose own emergence as a teenager set several European football benchmarks.
For Yamal, the immediate focus remains on sustaining his performances as Barcelona continue their Champions League campaign.
