Zulum Launches APC Mobilisation Drive After Return from North America Trip

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has commenced a mobilisation campaign for President Bola Tinubu and candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of forthcoming elections.

The governor began the exercise shortly after returning from an official trip to the United States and Canada, leading a political rally in Maiduguri despite heavy rainfall.

Addressing party supporters and residents at the Government House, Zulum stressed the importance of continuity in governance and urged voters to support APC candidates at all levels.

He pointed to improvements in security across Borno State and the wider North-East region, attributing the progress to cooperation between the state and federal governments.

According to him, support from the Federal Government has contributed significantly to ongoing recovery efforts, including infrastructure rehabilitation and the resettlement of displaced persons affected by insurgency.

Zulum argued that sustaining these gains requires continued collaboration between state and federal authorities, which he said would be strengthened through electoral support for APC candidates.

The governor noted that his administration had prioritised security and stability during its first term, resulting in what he described as relative peace in many communities previously affected by conflict.

He called on party members, traditional leaders and residents to mobilise support for President Tinubu, the APC governorship candidate, Mustapha Gubio, and other candidates contesting legislative positions.

According to Zulum, strong cooperation between the executive and legislative arms of government remains essential for effective service delivery and grassroots development.

The rally formed part of broader efforts by the ruling party to consolidate support in the state ahead of future electoral contests.
