Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has gifted fellow singer Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, known professionally as Mayorkun, a Tesla Cybertruck.
Davido revealed the gesture on Sunday through his Instagram Story, where he shared a photograph of the luxury electric vehicle alongside a message expressing affection for his former signee.
“My gift to you. I love you #iammayorkun,” the singer wrote while instructing an associate to arrange delivery of the vehicle.
Although the award-winning artiste did not disclose the value of the gift, the Tesla Cybertruck is one of the most sought-after electric vehicles globally, known for its distinctive stainless-steel exterior and futuristic design.
Industry estimates indicate that the vehicle sells for between $69,990 and $99,990 in the United States, depending on the model and specifications.
Due to import duties, shipping costs and associated charges, the vehicle is estimated to cost between ₦200 million and ₦340 million in Nigeria.
Mayorkun joined Davido Music Worldwide in 2016 and rose to prominence under the label before launching his independent music career in 2021.
Despite parting ways professionally, both artistes have maintained a close relationship and have frequently expressed mutual admiration and support for one another.
The latest gesture has attracted widespread attention from fans, many of whom described it as another demonstration of the strong bond between the two musicians.
