EFCC Drags Influencer Blessing CEO to Court Over Fresh N69.15m Property Scam

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned popular social media influencer Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, widely known as Blessing CEO, before a Lagos court for an alleged N69.15 million fraud involving a property lease scam.

The influencer pleaded not guilty to the charges on Tuesday and was subsequently remanded in EFCC custody. The court adjourned the matter to July 16 for a bail hearing. Blessing CEO had earlier secured N10 million bail in a separate N36 million fraud case.

The development highlights the EFCC’s intensified crackdown on social media personalities involved in financial crimes. Prosecutors allege that the influencer used her online platform to lure victims into fake property deals. The case has sparked conversations about the rising trend of internet fraud among young influencers and the need for greater digital financial literacy among Nigerians.

Many social media users expressed shock at the latest charges, given Blessing CEO’s large online following. The EFCC has vowed to continue pursuing high-profile cases to deter others. Further investigations into her activities are reportedly ongoing.
