NACCIMA Signs MoU With Chinese Firms to Boost Manufacturing, Trade Ties

The Nigeria Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture has entered into a tripartite agreement with China’s Linyi Wholesalers Federation and TTC Hydra Limited, aiming to deepen trade relations and pull fresh Chinese investment into Nigeria’s manufacturing and infrastructure sectors. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed during NACCIMA’s Infrastructure Conference in Abuja, laying out a structured approach to cooperation between businesses in both countries.

Under the terms of the deal, NACCIMA members stand to gain direct access to Chinese manufacturers and their supply chains, while Nigerian exporters will receive support aimed at helping them break into the Chinese market. The association also expects the partnership to pave the way for Chinese companies to set up manufacturing plants and pursue other long-term investments within Nigeria.

This latest agreement did not emerge in isolation. It builds directly on groundwork laid during an investment mission NACCIMA undertook to Linyi City in Shandong Province back in April, when a Nigerian delegation led by Director-General Sola Obadimu met with Chinese government officials and business leaders to explore expanding trade and investment ties.

That earlier trip appears to have borne fruit. NACCIMA revealed that the Linyi Wholesalers Federation, an organization representing more than 5,000 manufacturers and wholesale businesses, had already signaled interest in establishing manufacturing facilities, overseas warehouses and exhibition platforms within Nigeria. The newly signed MoU formalizes those earlier commitments into a concrete agreement.

The partnership divides responsibilities clearly between the parties. The Linyi federation will coordinate the supply of goods across several sectors, including building materials, agricultural machinery, automotive spare parts, construction equipment, renewable energy technologies, household appliances and electronics. TTC Hydra Limited, meanwhile, will handle trade facilitation and regulatory support, helping smooth the logistics of moving goods and investment between the two countries.

At the signing ceremony, NACCIMA President Engr. Jani Ibrahim joined representatives from both the Chinese federation and TTC Hydra Limited in reaffirming their shared commitment to putting the agreement into practice, signaling that both sides view this as more than a symbolic gesture in the broader push to strengthen Nigeria-China economic relations.
