The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has launched a specialised training programme aimed at enhancing the intelligence and operational capabilities of its Female Special Force (FSF).
The two-day workshop, which began in Abuja, focuses on intelligence gathering, evidence-based research, critical thinking and strategic security response, particularly in the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.
Speaking at the event, Commandant General Ahmed Audi said women play a crucial role in modern security operations and should be fully integrated into efforts aimed at tackling emerging security challenges.
He noted that the initiative aligns with the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 and the NSCDC Gender Policy, both of which promote the inclusion of women in peacebuilding, conflict prevention and national security.
“Women are active contributors to intelligence gathering, conflict prevention and national security,” Audi stated.
National Commander of the Female Special Force, Assistant Commandant Imonikhe Oluwakemi, said the unit remains committed to strengthening asset protection through intelligence-led operations. She added that modern security demands more than physical strength, requiring analytical thinking and data-driven decision-making.
The training attracted representatives from sister security agencies, while outstanding State Commanders from Benue, Kebbi, Edo and Bayelsa States received performance awards.
