The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed sadness over the death of Madam Felicia Famurewa, mother of the party’s National Secretary, Ajibola Famurewa.
Madam Famurewa reportedly passed away on Saturday after a brief illness at the age of 92.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the party described the late matriarch as a devout Christian, respected community leader and pillar of support to her family and those around her.
The Osun APC said her life was characterised by service, integrity and dedication to values that positively impacted her family and community.
Party leaders noted that she played an important role in raising children who have gone on to make meaningful contributions in public service and society.
The statement extended condolences to Ajibola Famurewa, members of his family and all those affected by the loss.
According to the party, Madam Famurewa’s legacy of faith, discipline and commitment to community development would continue to inspire future generations.
The APC prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and asked God to grant her family the strength to bear the loss.
Tributes have continued to pour in from political associates, community leaders and well-wishers who described her as a caring and compassionate woman.
The family is expected to announce burial arrangements in the coming days.
Her passing has been widely mourned within political and social circles in Osun State and beyond.
