The Okoye brothers’ ongoing public dispute may be straining their personal relationship, but it appears to be reviving interest in their music, as P-Square’s catalogue has recorded a notable resurgence on Nigeria’s Apple Music Albums Chart.
According to music chart tracking platform Album Talks HQ, the group’s compilation album, Best of P-Square, jumped 87 places to reach number 100 on the chart, while two other releases, Get Squared and Game Over, re-entered the rankings at numbers 173 and 182 respectively.
The timing is no coincidence. The renewed streaming activity comes as the latest chapter in the long-running feud between Peter and Paul Okoye continues to draw public attention, with fans apparently turning back to the duo’s classic catalogue as the dispute plays out online. The lingering tension between the brothers has kept generating reactions on social media, prompting many to revisit some of the group’s most beloved tracks from earlier in their career.
P-Square first rose to prominence in the early 2000s, eventually establishing themselves as one of Africa’s biggest musical exports, with hits including “Bizzy Body,” “Do Me,” “Game Over,” and “Alingo” cementing their place in the continent’s music history. The group’s split in 2017 came down to a combination of financial disputes, disagreements over creative control, and tension surrounding the role of their older brother and manager, Jude Okoye. They briefly reunited in November 2021, only to part ways again in 2024, with each brother subsequently pursuing solo careers, Peter performing as Mr P and Paul continuing under the name Rudeboy.
