Super Eagles debutant Femi Azeez has described representing Nigeria as a great honour after scoring on his first appearance for the national team during the Unity Cup tournament.
Speaking after the match, Azeez said he felt proud to wear the national colours and appreciated the confidence shown in him by head coach Eric Chelle.
The forward, who set a scoring record on debut, said he played without pressure and enjoyed the freedom given to him on the pitch.
Azeez added that he remains ambitious about playing in the English Premier League and expressed satisfaction at contributing to Nigeria’s success in the competition.
He said choosing Nigeria was an easy decision because of his heritage and long-standing connection to the country.
