President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called for greater national unity and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, praying that the country’s ethnic, religious and cultural diversity will become a foundation for prosperity and sustainable development.
The President offered the prayers on Sunday while hosting members of his delegation to a dinner in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
Tinubu expressed hope that Nigeria’s diversity would strengthen national development rather than deepen divisions, urging citizens to embrace mutual understanding and collective responsibility.
“May Almighty Allah bless Nigeria, convert our diversity into prosperity as a country,” he said.
The President also sought divine guidance for the nation’s leaders, praying for wisdom, courage and foresight in addressing Nigeria’s economic, security and developmental challenges.
He emphasised the importance of peaceful coexistence, patriotism and cooperation among Nigerians, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
According to Tinubu, the country’s abundant natural resources and the creativity of its people provide opportunities for building a more prosperous and inclusive society.
He encouraged citizens at home and abroad to remain committed to national progress and support efforts aimed at improving living conditions.
The gathering also provided an opportunity for members of the presidential delegation to reflect on Nigeria’s challenges and aspirations.
